Tot voorkort waren de video's bij elke les geüpload naar YouTube en "embedded" in de cursus. Er zijn echter een aantal verzoeken geweest van studenten die in landen wonen waar YouTube verbannen is, of de video's niet ook naar het platform zelf geüpload konden worden.

Als een experiment heb ik dit nu voor de Dutch for higher intermediates cursus gedaan. Omdat de video alleen in lagere resolutie direct geüpload kan worden, heb ik ook de in YouTube embedded versies laten staan, die in hoge resolutie kunnen worden afgespeeld.

Het enige nadeel is nu dat de geüploade versie automatisch gaat spelen als je de YouTube versie aanklikt, of wanneer je er met je muis overheen scrollt. Maar zodra je de video pauzeert, en bijvoorbeeld opnieuw de YouTube-versie start, dan blijft hij gepauzeerd :)

Hopelijk zal Teachable dit probleem in de toekomst oplossen. In elk geval mijn excuses hiervoor!

Until recently, the videos for each class were only uploaded to YouTube, and then I embedded the video into the course. However, there have been some requests from students who live or travel to countries that ban YouTube if I could also upload the video into the platform itself.

I have done that for the Dutch for higher intermediates course, so in every lesson, you will find two versions of each video: one on YouTube (in high resolution) and one on the website itself (in a lower resolution, but also with subtitles, by the way!)

The only downside is that the uploaded to the website starts to play AUTOMATICALLY once you want to play the YouTube version or scroll over it. You can pause it, and then everything will be fine! But I am so sorry for the inconvenience!

Hopefully, in the future, Teachable will fix this bug! In any case, my apologies for the inconvenience!
